Champaign IL Police Jail Innocent Man with Atrocious “Positive ID”

Champaign, IL Police Officer Katherine Thompson uses a very intoxicated witness to “positively identify” an innocent man. Jennifer Ryan Stundins identifies Christopher Hansen after only catching a glimpse of the side of his head for a fraction of a second, 30ft away, at night, through a windshield and without her glasses (which she told police were stolen with her purse).

Immediately before this “show up” identification, Jennifer Ryan was at Quality Bar, where she said “she had a lot to drink” and “while she was standing with the officers, people kept buying her drinks”. After the identification, Champaign Police Officers would not let Ryan drive herself home due to her level of intoxication.
